The Modified Daisy Chain Stitch
Supplement
The 2 Needle method
by Lady Satine De La Courcel
This handout is the two needle method for the daisy chain stitch. It is an alternative to the original of the modified daisy chain stitch. For the IN class handouts, both methods are given and the class chooses which one they want to do. Here I offer it as a part two or supplement to the Modified daisy chain stitch.
Step 1: Put a needle at each end of your string.
Step 2:) Holding onto one needle use the other one to string 6 beads, push them to the center of the string with the other needle thread through the 6th the bead. From the opposite direction. So that one string is coming out of each side of the bead. As in the diagram below.
Step 3: Add two beads to one side and three beads to the other side.
Step 4: Thread the needle with the two beads on it through the third bead on the other thread (opposite direction) and pull tight.
Step 5: Repeat steps three and four until you get the desired length.
Here are some examples I have made that can be created by using, either the one or two needle method. Also try to incorporate different shapes and size beads to create even more unique and one of a kind looks!
